Hi team,

I'd like to test the Infinity Scan tool but don't know where to get it. Is it possible to use another tool with Stardust?

Thanks,
Giang.

Giang,

due to license restrictions we could not open source the Scan client together with Stardust under the EPL. It is a Windows application that only comes under the commerical IPP license.

The Scan client interacts with the server only via official API (Web service or Java). Some customers have implemented their own clients (VB.NET and Spring) and there is nothing that would keep you from doing so. Depending on your use case you could leverage embedded Camel or an external Camel instance to send a scanned file to Stardust.

You can combine Robert's suggestion with e.g. a local Apache Camel application which picks up the files and send them to the WS Robert mentioned.

If you have built an EPL compliant Scan Client - feel free to share as a committer. Let's give back to the community ... Smile

Hi Marc,

Actually I intend to use Apache Camel with CMIS support to get the documents from a CMIS complied Scanning Software (ex: www.chronoscan.org) and transfer to Stardust over APIs.

PS: if we support CMIS protocol, isn't it awesome? Smile

Regards,
Giang
