message, but when I use the Windows Task Manager th close the task I get

Oh, and the log you should look at is the .log file in your workspace's
..metadata directory. It'd be helpful to post the last few entries in
your response to the newsgroup.

You probably should open up a bug report against CDT with details of
your problem. They'll help diagnose the issue and/or fix the issue with
CDT. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=CDT
