Sorry for such a newbie question, but I installed Eclipse, WebTools,
Apache Tomcat, and more versions of J2EE, JDKs, and JRE's I care to
mention here, and I cannot get Eclipse to show 'WEB' under project
selection when I click File->New->Project.
I see:
Java Project
Java Project from Existing Ant BuildFile
Plug-in Project
+ CVS
+ EMF
+ Java
+ Plug-in Dev
+ Simple
And according to the tutorials, there should be a + Web underneath +
Simple, but there isn't.
What am I missing/doing wrong? Any hints?

Try looking under File | New | Other, and then look under Web in the
list that brings up. I don't believe the tutorial has kept up with the
development.

Remove the ns_ from if replying by e-mail (but keep posts in the
newsgroups if possible).

I'd say you haven't installed webtools, or maybe the 3 dependencies. WTP
1.0.1 has an all-in-one that makes it simple to install Eclipse, WTP, and
dependencies in one simple step.

I have the same problem, because I'm using HDD space in a little bit
"idealistic" way
In order to save space and internet traffic I downloaded and installed
just the runtimes
I've got these packages:
+ eclipse-platform-3.1.2-win32
+ eclipse-JDT-3.1.2
+ eclipse-test-framework-3.1.2
+ emf-sdo-runtime-2.1.2
+ GEF-runtime-3.1.1
+ JEM-runtime-1.1.0.1
+ wtp-R-1.0.1-200602171228
I thought this should work - are these runtimes not enough?
please tell me, if there's something missing (I looked at the
eclipse/features directory of the WTP 1.0.1 all-in-one which a fried of
mine is using and I didn't see differences)
thx in advance

You seem to be missing emf-sdo-runtime-2.1.2 and
xsd-runtime-2.1.2.zip. I was unable to find a combined
emf-sdo-xsd-runtime zip, but I believe you need at least the XSD and
EMF pieces.
