Can I change icons in Artifact Explorer? [message #15402] Mon, 18 May 2009 11:22 Go to next message

Having not resolved my problem with creating a new type of artifact by the
proper means, I have nefariously created one by editing the database
tables using PgAdmin (this is juct background, not part of the question!)

I now have a nice new artifact type to use for data. However, it would be
nice to see in the Artifact Explorer that it is something different. I
don't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere in the help but is it possible
to define a new icon for an artifact type?

The answer to this is "Yes"! The way to do so is to use the BLAM
UpdateArtifactTypeImage. A 16x16 GIF can be selected and then uploaded to
the chosen artifact type. I was on the Common branch when I did so (which
I suspect is necessary).

Just for completeness, the UpdateArtifactTypeImage BLAM is branch
independent.

For those who have not run a BLAM operation before, they can be launched
from the Define Navigator and the ATS Navigator.
