Can't see all the JavaDoc text when hovering [message #163261] Wed, 02 August 2006 08:42 Go to next message

When I hover over a method in the method list that appears after I type
"dot" I get some javadoc information in a box. But often I cannot see all
the text, only the first 7 linies or so. How do I scroll through the javadoc
info?

There is currently no official support for scrolling through the
additional info. On linux/gtk, however, you can scroll the info using
the mouse wheel.

Hit F2 when the hover is visible. This will add scroll bars to the popup
window. Then you can scroll through the rest of the Java doc.

No that does not work in winXP.

My mistake. The F2 doesn't work when using code assist. It only works
when hovering over a class/method with the mouse.

So the answer is it cant be done? Right? Quite amazingly annoying this
lack of feature. I think Eclipse needs to take a hard look at how Netbeans
shows the Javadoc. Very easy and very nice!
