Debug Mode and websphere [message #162199] Mon, 27 February 2006 11:00 Go to next message

Im having problems trying to debug using websphere. I am able to deploy the application and start/stop the server just fine. But when I select debug on the server, it installs the app, but then stops the server.

I have set my server manually to debug mode on. Websphere defaultly uses port 7777, but I didn't see anywhere in the server installation/configuration in eclipse to set up the debug port. I'm not quite sure if this is why its not working or not, but it would be my best guess. Does anyone else know whats going on?

Thanks

Some more info on the issue:

It seems like its not just a problem with debug. When starting the application, it will only start if you manually enter the admin console and delete that app you are trying to install.

So this isn't a problem with debug mode. It seems as if this is a problem with uninstalling the ear. On every startup it looks like the script uninstalls the ear, then reinstalls the new one. This doesn't seem to be working properly. I'm going to look inside the scripts and see if anything funny is going on. Because if I manually go to the admin console and uninstall the app, debug or run server works fine the first time. But any time after that it gets messed up, and instead of starting the server just stops after it installs the war.
