Unexpected update of my scout installation [message #1079891]

For a while I was on the Scout 3.9 (Kepler) nightly builds but with the official release of Kepler I switched back to the official Kepler branch (3.9.0.x).

Today I ran Help->Check for updates and it told me there was an update for scout. I didn't pay much attention to the version of the update and just said "yes" to install it. After installation I checked the version and now have version 3.10.20130805-0358 installed.

I assume that this is part of the Luna development branch, is that correct?

To be honest, considering I had installed scout from the Kepler URL (http://download.eclipse.org/releases/kepler) I would have expected updates to only be taken from that update site. Isn't that assumption correct? Or are the update sites I used to install earlier versions of Scout (http://download.eclipse.org/scout/nightly/ and http://download.eclipse.org/scout/releases/3.9/) also taken into account when checking for updates?

I am not sure what the „Available Updates" Dialog behavior is. I am not able to reproduce the case you are describing.

Maybe it depends on the checkbox "Contact all update site" in "Help > Install new software".

You can also manage your update sites in "Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites".
