Can you please *exactly* describe where this box appears?

Its a green box thats at the bottom of the eclipse window on the right
hand side. I think it appeared after installing new plug ins. Also its
dock able to the right, left, top, and bottom by default it seems like
its in a bottom.

What perspective are you in? On what platform? What plugins did you install?

I just happened to have a clean Eclipse 3.2SDK installed on my Linux
box, and had just done the update to all-of-Callisto. I tried various
perspectives, going to existing and non-existing (i.e., cleanly made)
workspaces, and I didn't see what you were talking about. I *did* see a
whole bunch of stuff (e.g., back-to-welcome icons) I'd never noticed
before... that's always a good learning experience. But nothing like you
described.

So... did you install a plug-in not tied to Callisto? AspectJ or JSF or
Laszlo or some-such? Because I'm just not seeing it in the "stock"
stuff. Sorry...

Matt, is there any way to get rid of it?

Hi Pavel,

Go $ECLIPSEDIR/eclipse/plugins where $ECLIPSEDIR is where you installed
Eclipse. Delete all plugins that contain *examples*. This should do it.
Alternatively, unzip Eclipse to a new location, and this time don't
unzip the Eclipse examples plugin to the same place (which you must have
done before, I think).

Matt

Or simpler: remove or disable (by renaming plugin.xml to plugin.off) the
'org.eclipse.ui.examples.readmetool' plug-in.
