BIRT ignores alias when generating column binding names for joint data sets [message #1058893] |

I run into this problem and do not know if I do something wrong
or if this behaviour is a feature.
1. OK:
Data Set A and Data Set B define aliases for all their columns.
2. OK:
Joint Data Set join both A and B.
BIRT correctly defines its aliases as a direct copy from the aliases above.
3. OK:
When binding Data Set A or B to a table,
BIRT correctly sets column binding name = alias
4. WRONG:
When binding Joint Data Set to a table,
BIRT sets column binding name = Data Set Name::Column Name.
But in my opinion, BIRT should set it to column alias defined in the data set -
no matter if it is a joint data set or a simple data set.
I am running BIRT
Version: 4.2.2.v201210101433-8F8j7cFT0z0-TtIsTlT0z-a
Build id: v20130206-1509
I tried to set up templates for tables which will bind to joint data sets
which will improve our productivity - if it just works.
Can somebody give me a hint if there is a solution?
Thanks in advance,
Silvester
