Not sure this is the right forum for this.
In the Eclipse editor pane each tab is a file I currently have open and then a ">>" appears on the right of the tabs where I can see additional open files. I don't understand the policy that defines which tabs are displayed, nor the ordering of the files listed under the ">>". In the older version of Eclipse I was running (3.x?) the tabs seemed to be the most recently used which was great. Now I don't know what the policy is. I can be editing one file, then open another, and my original file (i.e. the most recently used) has moved off the tabs to the ">>" additional files. Then in the additional files (">>") the older Eclipse version used to be ordered alphabetically so it was easy to find the right file. Now it seems to be ordered randomly making browsing for the right file a real pain.
I recently to a 4.x and this current behavior is driving me nuts. Is this configurable somewhere? Can I go back to the older (3.x?) behavior somehow? Any pointers appreciated. Thanks!
