Syndera (www.syndera.com) is a dynamic startup located in Redwood City, California. We have developed and shipped an operational intelligence suite in which the main design-time tool is a set of plugins for the Eclipse 3.0 platform. The plugins are not traditional IDE extensions; the application is a metadata manager in the form of Eclipse Plugins and is the design-time tool for managing and creating objects in our Metadata Repository.

We are at a stage of growth in the company and need to expand our Eclipse development team to include 2 more members:

Senior Eclipse Engineer: This position is hands-on and will work with the UI Manager and other members of the Engineering team to design, implement, and enhance the product to incorporate future requirements. A strong background in Java is a must, and more importantly, full-lifecycle experience with developing plugins for Eclipse. We have made use of much of what Eclipse has to offer but want to leverage your deeper understanding of Eclipse to fully and efficiently utilize it's capabilities.
(*This is a fulltime position but we are also open to shorter-term contracts to help us establish a solid foundation that we can later scale to encompass enhancements)

Staff Eclipse Engineer: This position will work with the Senior Eclipse Engineer and other members of the Engineering team to maintain and enhance our existing product. Only a minimum of 1 year of dedicated Eclipse development experience is required for this position(more is better, of course:-P), but a strong background in Java development is a must.

Below are some detail about the work we are doing and where we'd like to go from here.

What we have used:
Dialogs (built-in and custom)
Draw2d/GEF
Editors(custom)
Menus, Context-menus, and Action contributors.
Perspectives
Preferences
Properties View
SWT/JFace (both using as base controls and also through Viewers)
Views (custom)
Wizards (Import, Export, New custom objects, etc)

What we need to get a better handle on:
Draw2d/GEF -- As viewer/editor for editing elements in a UML-diagram fashion
-- As viewer/editor for editing processes in a process modeling paradigm.

What we would like to start using:
CheatSheet
Intro
Help, Context-sensitive Help
Eclipse Jobs API
Extension Points (creating custom extension points)
Update Manager

If this looks interesting to you then please contact me directly at knguyen@syndera.com
No recruiter, please!!!
