Can I start the app server in Eclipse? [message #14625] Thu, 07 May 2009 07:58 Go to next message

I have struggled to work out how to get the app server to use a different
jdbc driver when run from the command line.

However, having installed a second OSEE using the Eclipse upgrade path
instead of the stand-alone, I now have Eclipse talking quite happily to a
SQL server database using jdbc.

The problem I now have is that I don't know how to start the app server in
the Eclipse environment. Is it possible?

Launching of an app server via eclipse has not been integrated at this
time. You can achieve the same functionality by configuring an external
tool launch configuration. In eclipse, select run->external
tools->external tools configurations. This should open a dialog. Double
click on Program and fill in launch information.

I was hoping to be able to pick up the database configuration from Eclipse
and that won't work if I make it an external app. Never mind, it was just
a possible way of getting the OSEE app server running with SQL server.
