Wicked Shell 1.3.0 [message #155633] Mon, 05 June 2006 20:26 Go to next message

I have downloaded the plugin Wicked Shell 1.3.0 and tried to build a shell
script with this plugin into Eclipse 3.1.2.

When I tried Help=>software updates=>Find and Install..., and I tried "New
Local Site...", I got this error:

"No features found on the selected site(s). Choose a different site or
site category."

I have attempted the following to fix this, and failed:

1) try clearing the checkbox "Ignore features not applicable to this
environment"
2) try updating from the remote site
http://sourceforge.net/projects/wickedshell
3) copy-pasting the plugin folder "net.sf.wickedshell_1.3.0" into
"C:\eclipse\plugins" and restarting the workspace

note that I do see "net.sf.wickedshell" listed in "Help=>About Eclipse
SDK=>About Eclipse SDK Plug-ins".

Question: how do I use Wicked Shell 1.3.0 to *single step* through a
shell script in Eclipse?

Since the plug-in is showing up in the About Plug-ins dialog, that means
it was installed ok. You don't have to worry about using the Update
Manager. The Update Manager is used in some projects to automatically
download and install plug-ins, but is not necessary for plug-ins you
install manually by downloading and unzipping yourself.

You'll probably have better luck contacting the authors/user community
for your plug-in for information on how to use it (after seeing if
there's any help included in the Eclipse help or on their website, of
course) - most people here are probably not familiar with that plug-in.

Hope this helps,
- Jeff

I think u can delete org.eclipse.update directory (in eclipse/configuration)
and start the eclipse again. it updates the plugin.

i am not sure of the this approach....
