Link to local project folder? [message #1027884] Wed, 27 March 2013 14:50 Go to next message

Can someone tell me how to link an Eclipse project to an svn project that I checked out locally?

I have a checked out version of an Eclipse project that exists in my File System. I would like to create a project in Eclipse and have it linked to that folder structure without copying or moving the files.

Any suggestions or links would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

BB

Welcome to Eclipse.

Do this...

File -> Import... -> General -> Existing Projects into Workspace -> Next

Navigate to find the subdirectory you checked out from Subversion and
click Finish.

Let us know if you still have trouble.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply. Quick question... will the Import create a copy of the project in the workspace?

Try it, you'll see. You'll have the option of having Eclipse copy it
into the workspace, but of course, like me, you won't click to take that
option. The only thing you'll see inside your workspace is .metadata and
Server and only the latter if you're doing Dynamic Web Projects.

Cheers!
