Congradulations to the WTP team! WTP 1.0M9 has just been declared and is
available for download from:

http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/S-1.0M9 -200511222306/

M9 includes new features such as project facets and documentation as well
as many, many bug fixes. (946 bug fixes since M8!)

WTP 1.0 is right around the corner. Please report any bugs you find in M9
ASAP so we can address the blocking and critical bugs in time for 1.0.

Enjoy!

Hey, that is great news!

Is there an upgrade path from 0.7/0.7.1 or does one need to do a full
new install?

I have just upgraded from the last 'I' build to the M9 build, but now have a publishing problem which I did not
have before. The error is ('directory_path' is actually my package hierarchy in the error message):

Publishing failed
Error copying file to {0}: {1}
duplicate entry: /directory_path/vssver.scc

This is stopping me publishing my projects (the error message is actually also duplicated for my J2EE web
library module projects), and also stopping my Tomcat 5.5 localhost server from starting up.

I have the same problem with the simple setup: new clean installation of
1.0M9 (with Tomcat 5.5.12).

One Dynamic Web Project 'A' with default configuration referencing (Web
Library dependency) a plain Java Project 'B' with split src/bin dirs.
(Both empty except the default files.)

java.util.zip.ZipException: duplicate entry: META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
at java.util.zip.ZipOutputStream.putNextEntry(ZipOutputStream.j ava:163)

Sorry Zsolt,
the WTP has always been the assembly as it is listed. You have to unzip
all the pieces into the same folder.

Have fun

Not for M9. We'll make one available for the WTP 1.0 final release.

Rus, Toby,

Please open a defect for this problem so it can get resolved in time for
WTP 1.0.

If you are using J2EE Dependant Modules and the files you see in the
error are from inside those modules.

I am not sure that it is acutally the same issue as yours, Russell. I
discovered that it actually depends on the separate source/output
folders in the dependent Web Library project.

Hi,

I have just upgraded to fresh Eclipse 3.2M3 + WTP 1.0M9, import existing
dynamic project (WTP 0.7), new server (Tomcat 5.0) and publish ->

Error 2005-11-28 14:32:10.203 Could not publish to the server.

Server can't start of course... E3.2M3 + WTP 0.7 works perfectly (no
publish problems).
I'm not sure, that it is the same problem.

I've dropped back to the previous build for the moment - I have a boss to produce some work for! But I'll see if
I can look into this problem again next week.
