Is it possible to set the titles to be shown for views that are added to an IFolderLayout in a new perspective before the user clicks the view tabs to initiate the views?

When the Eclipse workbench starts up after being used to edit a number of documents, the editor tabs all have the titles of the open documents even though they are only initiated when the user clicks on them. Is it possible to achieve the same initiation when starting with a new perspective?

All my views show up as tabs with the same title (the XML-defined view extension title) and I wondering if it is possible to specify some property that maps views with specific secondary IDs to specific titles even before they are initiated by the user... or, if one can perhaps somehow dig into the view registry and modify the titles of specific view descriptors when the workbench window is initiated?
