Hi,
There is a bug report: Bug 328982 - Cannot open report exported to .ppt in microsoft powerpoint 2010.
It has been marked as "won't fix". Microsoft changed the output format, however with more and more customers upgrading their office products, it seems like a major limitation if it is not to eventually support it. I would like to understand if there is a plan to eventually support this. If there is, what roadmap do you have in mind?

Ok i will wait. But I have a doubt, I'll explain: after opening the ppt file exported with version 4.2.2. I noticed that this file is text as you can see from here:
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/related; boundary="___Actuate_Content_Boundary___"

If I open it with PowerPoint 2007 and save it, the file becomes binary (and also opens the PowerPoint2010).
My big problem is: as i should concatenate these files together with the POI, and the ppt generated by birt 4.2.2. can not be open with POI becouse has invalid header (becouse isn't a really ppt file), my question is: with the new version of Birt, the file generated is in the same format (so can not be treated by POI) or is in the correct format with correct header of a normal pptx file?
Thanks
