Visio stencil to GEF [message #145622] Fri, 30 July 2004 08:52 Go to next message

Hi,

Is there some previous work on generating (most of) a GEF-based editor,
using Visio stencils and templates as starting point? I'm thinking in
leveraging the large base of existing visual notations out there.

Given that Visio uses internally a parametric constraint solver (which
updates values following the equations for figures, connectors, etc) it
would be helpful if someone has followed before the path of handling
constraints of GEF elements.

Regards,

Miguel

miguel,

i do not know of such a thing, but i would be very interested in such. do
you have familiarity with the way visio constructs its shapes, or the
structure of the file format for shapes? if so, if you could share them
with me, i would like to look into doing what you suggested.

thanks,
steve
