JUnit Support extensibility : run tests from classpath jars [message #1000335] Mon, 14 January 2013 09:49
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi,

hot on the heels of http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/SUREFIRE-569, we'd like to see Eclipse JDT being able to run tests from (classpath) jars directly.

Is it possible for a 3rd party plugin to extend (i.e. using extension points) the Junit support in JDT to allow such thing? One possible implementation would provide some kind of virtual folder (listing [all] test classes from classpath jars) to the JUnit tooling.
* If so, how?
* If not possible, could you give some pointers on what needs to be changed in JDT/Junit, so we (as in Red Hat) could contribute a patch?
