Need help with installing Google plugin in Eclipse 4.2 (Juno) [message #997952] Tue, 08 January 2013 22:55 Go to next message

I haven't been able to install the Google plugin for Eclipse 4.2, and I would appreciate any help.

Context:
I'm on Windows 7, and I just recently downloaded Eclipse 4.2. I am using Java 1.6, and I have also installed the appropriate JRE. I've tried installing the plugin from both the zip file and the download update site, and neither seems to work.

a) When installing it from the zip file, Eclipse tells me that some files are missing (one of them being com.google.gdt.eclipse.suite.e42.feature.feature.group 3.1.3.v201212122042-rel-r42). This is not due to an incomplete download error, because I've re-downloaded and re-installed the zip file many times, with the same result.

b) Installing the plugin directly from the download site within Eclipse results in an "Unable to connect" error. I have tried disabling my anti-virus software, and it still doesn't work.

I would really appreciate any ideas on how I could fix this! Thanks.
