Hi,

I am little confused and hoping someone can help out.

I am trying to create a new server runtime for weblogic 8.1 but see no
option for a generic server which used to exist based on the web tutorial
screenshots.

If I choose the generic weblogic 8 server it points the server to the
samples domain but I would like to configure this to point to something
else (eg: user_projects/domains/mydomain).

Is there a way to do this? I am sure I am missing something small here.

Thanks!

Hmm..

The Weblogic8.1 serverdef still shows in wtp 0.7.1..

and it doe sshow up still in my choice menues

But I am sure that you cold create a domain directory and than point to that directory?

Sorry I am not familar with weblogic at the moment..

I thinkwe might need to step through the rest of the server steps..

You already went through the Window->Preferences->server->InstalledRuntimes

But you might of left off the File->New->Other->Server-Server

Than choose weblogic under Generic Examples..

and than you wil be at the screen to set where your new domain is located..

You can either do a new server project to contain all these servers as you configure them or just right click when it appears in the server view and send it to the workpsace..

I hoope that my unoffical evanglism of the Eclispe WTP has helped..

When you define a new server in the "Servers" view, you can specify
the path to the domain dir, start/stop scripts etc.

I have a similar question. My weblogic instance requires username and
password for the startup script. How do I specify that ? There is no
provision to give the username and password when I try to define the
Server (generic Weblogic server) in the servers view. I am new to both
Weblogic and WTP. Any help would be appreciated.

Specification of the username and password is not currently supported
because the generic WLS adapters are intended to be used with admin servers
in development mode (due to the use of auto-deploy) and therefore leverage
the credentials stored in the boot identity file.

Please open a bugzilla enhancement issue for this and assign it to me.
