Running Java with Eclipse [message #987289]

I am having trouble logging into Eclipse the correct way! Can anyone help i am trying to get pass the error, environment variable is not set...Please give me any indications as to how to follow up with this situation. Also i keep getting default launch into ANT application, but i am trying to launch a JAVA application. Thank you.
