EMF Release Notes [message #967658] Thu, 01 November 2012 23:09 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
Updating my RCP app so I have one of my least favorite experiences of
updating my target platform.

To choose which releases I target I need to know compatibility. And
where or where can I find the EMF release notes for the different projects?

I have tried:
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/news/relnotes.php

But it just barfs and produces nothing. Is it only me or does anyone
else have this problem?

John

John,

I'll ask Dennis Hübner by BCC if this is supposed to work. The website
is badly out of date for EMF and for many modeling projects. It's all
so much work to maintain, and I like maintaining code better... Sorry...

Regards,
Ed

In terms of compatibility, EMF 2.8 was built to be compatible with
Eclipse 3.5 and up (whereas 2.7 was built to be compatible with Eclipse
3.7 and up) and we strive never to break APIs, so I don't expect you to
have compatibility problems of any sort.

Regards,
Ed
