In P2, is an "install" also an update?

I am confused - using the Director application all it documents is install
and uninstall. Likewise all I see in the p2 documentation are for those
two particular touchpoints. But what if I have an existing feature or
bundle that I want to update ? Note that the bundle would have a greater
version also.

Answer to question: Yes. The director application does updates as well
with the "-installIU" option.
