java.exe crashes when profiling [message #134167] Fri, 08 August 2008 20:31 Go to next message

Hi,

I'm using:

WinXP SP2 on IA32
JRE 1.6.07
Eclipse 3.4
TPTP 4.5, Agent Controller 4.5

...and when I try to launch a profiling session, java.exe crashes. Here's
what I did:

- Verify project compiles/launches in Run mode
- Launch agent controller ACServer.exe
- Select main class and click Profile As Eclipse Application
- Select "Execution Time Analysis" monitor

I tried adding the -Djava.compiler=NONE flag as suggested in another
thread but it didn't work. I've also been able to verify the connection to
the ACServer (Test Availability in the Monitor tab) successfully.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Can you attach the Java crash log along with any other error message/log
you have?

Thanks,
Asaf

I don't have a Java crash log; it just dies with the system error
"java.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Error signature:

AppVer 6.0.70.6
ModName ntdll.dll
ModVer 5.1.2600.2180
Offset 00011430

Exception code 0xc0000005 flags 0x00000000

Sorry, I know this isn't terribly helpful. Is there a way to get a more
useful log?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Please define the following environment variables at the *machine
level*, restart Eclipse, reproduce the crash and post the generated log
file here:

MARTINI_LOGGER_DIRECTORY=<full path to a directory of your choice>
MARTINI_LOGGER_LOG_LEVEL=5

Thanks,
Asaf
