"Hello World" Tutorial doesn't work [message #132373] Tue, 12 May 2009 14:58 Go to next message

Hi,

I'm an absolute beginner, so be patient.

Eclipse: 3.4.2
RAP: 1.1.1.20080917-1637

I can execute and play the RAP Demo. No problem.

But when I add a new RAP project with one of these templates "RAP Hello
World" or "RAP Application with a View" and I try to start one of these
new projects, i've got this stacktrace.

And no, there is no test_rap.Application class. The template gives me
only one class test_rap.Activator. Maybe a mapping prob?

Any hints?

Thx

Roland

Hi Ivan,

I'll try the lastest milestone and will give feedback.

Anyway, I've followed the official way:
http://www.eclipse.org/rap/gettingstarted.php

Which points to:
http://download.eclipse.org/rt/rap/update-site

Which gives me this version:
1.1.1.20080917-1637

So it may not just be me having this problem.

Roland,

the update-site listed on the getting started page is outdated.
Sorry for that.
Here goes the current update site:
http://download.eclipse.org/rt/rap/1.2/update

I've installed 1.2.0.20090505.

It's a lot better as I've now a runnung "Hello World" app using the
corresponding template.

But there is still a bug in that template. The "Require-Bundle:" tag in
the manifest file is wrong. Is this newsgroup the right place to report
such errors?

Thanks for your help. I'm going to continue my RAP tour.
