Pie Chart Min Slice Legend [message #130040] Tue, 14 February 2006 11:24 Go to next message

Hi

I am trying to use the Min Slice setting on a pie chart to reduce the
number of categories that appear in the legend (we have about 15, but
many only contain 1 or 2 items), however I cannot get it to work as
required. The slices are grouped correctly, but each of the categories
is listed in the legend. I had expected that only the categories that
exceeded the min slice size would appear in the legend along with an
item titled according to the Slice Label setting.

Have I misunderstood how this features works or is there another way to
accomplish this?

Thanks
Jonathan

Hi David

Thanks for your very quick response, I have added myself as a CC for
this bug.

As a possible workaround I tried turning off the legend and adding the
category name to the slice label, but the 'other' slice was named
according to the first category that appeared in the data. I assume that
this is caused by the same bug?

Have you any suggestions for workarounds? It sort of renders the whole
minimum slice feature pretty useless, which is a shame and potentially a
big issue for us.

Thanks
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Please add this other problem in the bug description to make sure it gets
resolved together. I apologize for this issue, I hope to have it fixed in
2.1.

For the slice label workaround, you can use scripting to change the slice
label. Look at the org.eclipse.birt.chart.examples plugin which contains lot
of scripting examples both in JavaScript and Java.

Thanks,

David

In bugzilla this issue are fixed.
But I have the same problem on BIRT Framework 4.3.2.v20140211.

How can I hide entries of sliced pie in the legend of the barchart?

Thanks,
Mark
