P2 Director contacts download.eclipse.com, fails if not reachable [message #129305]

During a headless PDE build of a product based on the Eclipse Platform, we
invoke the P2 director and it proceeds to contact download.eclipse.com. If
it cannot reach it due to a network timeout, the P2 director fails, and
fails our build with a network exception. (Note that HTTP 404 or Connection
Refused allow it not to fail).

Can I do something?

Assuming you're on 3.4, it looks like there may be better support coming
in 3.5 to retry download failures. For example,
