An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

This type of error, with different packages named, is occurring almost
every time I try to update Eclipse 3.4.2. There are no updates to the
named packages, but this is preventing installation of other updates
I really need.

I captured network traffic during this install and see a number of
404 responses from several servers.


Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get past this?

I just tried UNINSTALLING a feature. It failed with the same type of
message listing a different set of features, not including the one
I had requested to uninstall.
