Hi,

I want to ask VE team about the information about the progress of creating a
new tutorials for VE as stated in VE 1.2 plan.
When these new tutorials will be available for VE extenders, if any will be?

John

Where is the best current place to look for information about extending
the VE? I am trying to use the org.eclipse.ui.popupMenus extension
point to extend the behavior of existing widgets, and I'm a little lost
in the world of IBeanProxy and ComponentGraphicalEditPart.

There is a tutorial for extending on the VE home page. It covers many
topics. After that you just questions here.

Hi Rich,
this is written in VE Version 1.2 Plan
( http://www.eclipse.org/vep/WebContent/docs/v1.2/plan/vep-pla n-1.2.html), is
it still valid? :
Committed Items
JFACE components: support the usage of both SWT and JFace components
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=48552)

API: formally open portions of the Java EMF Model (JEM) component:
Java Model itself, Workbench/EMF Uitilities

Tutorials. VE lacks with developer based documentation. This release
will provide more tutorials similar to
http://eclipse.org/articles/Article-VE-Custom-Widget/customw idget.html.

We handle ViewPart, EditorPart, Tree/Table/List/Combo Viewers.

Parts of it have been opened as API.

No we ourselves will not be doing this part. If someone else wants to
contribute, that would be great.
