Hi guys,

Is is possible to duplicate a P2 profile ?

My scenario is the following:
- I create a profile A in shared bundle pooling mode using P2 Director
- In the newly created running profile, I install IUs from multiple
update sites
- After a few days comes a new major version of one of my IUs and I
want to upgrade it but on a new profile B to be able to keep working on
the previous version. Also I don't want to install other IUs all over again.
- I therefore want to duplicate/clone my A profile into a B profile in
order to make the upgrade on the B profile

Another similar scenario is the following:
- I create a profile A in shared bundle pooling mode using P2 Director
- In the newly created running profile, I install IUs from multiple
update sites
- Once I'm happy with the overall configuration, I want to share it
with a coworker.
- I therefore want to send him a "description" of my profile in order
for him to reproduce it on his computer. The description would contain
the list of IUs and the list of update sites to get the IUs from.

Are those scenarios currently supported ? And if yes, how do I do it ?

Kind regards,

Cédric Vidal

You might want to take a look at the net result of --

If you feel like riding the bleeding edge I just committed this and moments
before reading your message was doing exactly what you want.
