EPF and CVS [message #11333] Mon, 29 May 2006 11:54 Go to next message

Hi,

We are working in a team and trying to use EPF Composer tool in
collaboration to model a custom process. Me and my colleage want to work
on different content and later merge/synchronize all the changes to a
single repository.

Has anyone worked on integrating EPF composer with CVS? Or can someone
suggest a better approch to use the EPF Composer tool in a collaborative
environment?

We have tried to integrate a CVS plugin into the EPF Composer tool, but it
seems that EPF tool is not so mature to integrate with it.

We also tried running the EPF Composer tool within the Eclipse IDE (v3.1)
merging the EPF plugins with Eclipse IDE plugins and features. It opens
the EPF Perspectives but fails to open the EPF Library View showing some
exception (
Verify exception or something like that).

Please revert with your ideas/suggestions.
Thanks

Folks,

I have just read the EPF Clearcase query in this forum and checking the M3
version of EPF for CVS support.

Will post my experience soon.
Thanks

Hi,

I have checked the M3 (Integration Build) version of the tool and observed
that it still doesn't have the CVS support. I even tried copying the CVS
plugins that come with Eclipse IDE 3.2, to the EPF Plugins folder. The EPF
Composer tool doesn't recognize the plugin.

May be we will have to wait until we see the Milestone Build for M3.

For more information please check the "Tooling: Configuration management
support in EPF Composer" thread.

Thanks

Hi Ravindra.

The nightly builds for EPF Composer are now posted to the tool download
page. You should try the latest one and see if that helps your
situation. The latest builds are packaged with the Team and CVS plug-ins.

Thanks.
