when I try to build my CDT project on my system using Eclipse Juno I get a java.lang.NullPointer exception I don't know how to fix. The project is in C++ and I am in the correct perspecvtive.

If you are running on Ubuntu and use Open JDK, then you might be hit by a bug in the latest Ubuntu update. It breaks time zone information.

The workaround is to re-install the tzdata-java package.

Yeah I saw that bug, no I am running this instance of eclipse on Windows 7.
Development environment is up to date as well (I forgot to mention).

Hello Ted,

how could we help in this case? There are 2718281 possibility's (more or less) to get an NullPointerExeption...

What did you try in the meantime?
For example, make a new Workspace, create the Hello-C++ example and look, what happens?
