Sorry people but i am going crazy here.

I am trying since two days to install VE. Yeah I know unbelievable YES
since already 2 days (okey just for 6 hours, but...)
My problems are very funny. I just installed the Plugin in a "normal" way.
I downloaded the Plugin and extracted it in my Eclipse installation
folder. Then it takes me an hour to find out, that my whole installatoin
was corrupted after then.

Current configuration contains errors that are not corrected by the
requested operation and more errors would be introduced. See details for
more information.
----- Current configuration problems -----
Visual Editor (1.2.0.v20060227_S) requires feature "org.eclipse.emf
(2.2.0)", or compatible.
Java EMF Model (1.2.0.v20060227_S) requires feature "org.eclipse.emf
(2.2.0)", or compatible.
----- Configuration problems after the operation -----
Visual Editor (1.2.0.v20060227_S) requires feature "org.eclipse.emf
(2.2.0)", or compatible.
Java EMF Model (1.2.0.v20060227_S) requires feature "org.eclipse.emf
(2.2.0)", or compatible.
Java EMF Model (1.1.0.1) requires feature "org.eclipse.emf (2.1.0)",
or compatible.
Visual Editor (1.1.0.1) requires feature "org.eclipse.emf (2.1.0)", or
compatible.

For me it seems so that I just downloaded one version that does not fit to
the other.
So I tried simply to ADD the Site for EMF und VE manually before i
installed them, but i am not able to find the correct sites. I read over
the site again and again and I was not able to find the address for
updating. I opened the files to find the adresses in the "corrupted"
version.. No Chance.
I tried to edit the already installed site,.. No editing is not allowed.
Editing is only allowed for manuel added sites.

All what I need is the site adress of VE for using the Update Manager of
eclipse.

and best of it: i was to stupid to use this "maling" list,.. i have to use
the webinterface version because
"news://news.eclipse.org/eclipse.tools.ve" this doesnt work.

Sorry i am depressed, angry and stressed.

What version of Eclipse are you using? You must pick a version of VE
that's compatible with it to install (looks like you were trying to
install both VE 1.1 and 1.2).

VE 1.1 is compatible with Eclipse 3.1. You can download it either via
the download manager in Eclipse, or directly from this page:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ve/downloads/drops/R-1.1.0 .1-200509071822/index.html
You'll also need the required versions of GEF and EMF that are listed in
the Requirements section of that page.

If you are using Eclipse 3.2 m5a or m6, you need to use VE 1.2. For
m5a, you can add the Callisto update site to your update manager by
adding this url: http://download.eclipse.org/callisto/releases then
select the Visual Editor and press the Select Required button to select
GEF and EMF. If you are using 3.2m6, you can download a compatible
version of the VE here:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ve/downloads/drops/I-I2006 0405-200604051850/index.html

Hope this helps,
- Jeff

First Thank u for the fast answer.

I tried to use
eclipse-SDK-3.2M5a-win32.zip
and VE-runtime-1.2M2.zip and GEF-runtime-3.2M5.zip

Hmm I would like to use the Update Manager of Eclipse so it should
automatically download the right plugin.

Hey
http://download.eclipse.org/callisto/releases
is the correct link.
this was perfect for me. Exactly what i wanted. This site address should
added to the FAQ.

Thank u again :-)

I am smiling again LOL
