Hi eGitians

Got a quickie question to ask ... I am a newbie to GIT.

I have been playing around with eGIT & jGIT and realised that if my GIT Repo has submodules, they are represented as Folders in eGIT.

Therefore when we modify anything in the submodule, it is not made available for staging. On debug realised that they are not treated as resources of the project and omitted by the staging view and indexdiff object.

We are not keen on using a commandline tools and not checkout the submodules to modify them. we are interested in modifying the submodules within the project.

Wanted to better understand the support for submodules in eGIT. I have already had the chance to look at a few logs about the same running from 2010-2011. Wanted to kno if there is an change that is made in Juno version or eGIT2.0.0.

Any reply would be appreciated.

Malai
