If you want to do this all in one step, set a Bookmark using the
left-hand ruler within the editor. Double-clicking on that bookmark
in the Bookmarks view will open the editor and jump to the line
where the bookmark was set.

This should apply to any non-graphical editor.

Open the file, Ctrl-L and enter the line number. Hit OK.

(Cmd-L on MacOSX).
