The last discussion I found about splash screens in eclipse 4 is from over a year ago. Is there some progress in this topic?
I have a splash-log-in and currently manage the splash life cycle myself. This does not seem like the best way to go.

There has been a discussion (actually about a week old) lately on the mailing list and the forum about creating support for splash handling in pure Eclipse 4 apps.

There you will also find a reference to the bug opened for this service which is open to discussion.

True, I was looking at the user registration date instead of the post date. My current solution is also inspired by the suggestion in the referenced bug.
