Hello,

I have problems with my XText project (and also the XTend example projects). When I delete the generated files in xtend-gen, open up the .xtend file and save it (so the generator should be triggered I think), I get following stacktrace in the eclipse log/console

178 [Worker-5] ERROR org.eclipse.xtext.builder.impl.XtextBuilder -
java.lang.NullPointerException
	at org.eclipse.xtext.builder.BuilderParticipant.isEnabled(BuilderParticipant.java:184)
	at org.eclipse.xtext.builder.BuilderParticipant.build(BuilderParticipant.java:99)
	at org.eclipse.xtext.builder.impl.RegistryBuilderParticipant.build(RegistryBuilderParticipant.java:60)
	at org.eclipse.xtext.builder.impl.XtextBuilder.doBuild(XtextBuilder.java:160)
	at org.eclipse.xtext.builder.impl.XtextBuilder.incrementalBuild(XtextBuilder.java:141)
	at org.eclipse.xtext.builder.impl.XtextBuilder.build(XtextBuilder.java:91)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.BuildManager$2.run(BuildManager.java:728)
	at org.eclipse.core.runtime.SafeRunner.run(SafeRunner.java:42)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.BuildManager.basicBuild(BuildManager.java:199)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.BuildManager.basicBuild(BuildManager.java:239)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.BuildManager$1.run(BuildManager.java:292)
	at org.eclipse.core.runtime.SafeRunner.run(SafeRunner.java:42)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.BuildManager.basicBuild(BuildManager.java:295)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.BuildManager.basicBuildLoop(BuildManager.java:351)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.BuildManager.build(BuildManager.java:374)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.AutoBuildJob.doBuild(AutoBuildJob.java:143)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.events.AutoBuildJob.run(AutoBuildJob.java:241)
	at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:54)

Seems that something is wrong with my eclipse setup?! It worked fine the first time but after a time of work the described error occurs. This leads to a missing generator for my XText project.

Tried project -> clean but the error also occurs there. Also a new Workspace didn't help, so I guess it's something wrong with my installation. Any tips here what I can do now?

Kind regards
Sven

Hi Sven,

please make sure that your installation is consistent. How did you
install Xtext? Do you have other plugins installed, that use Xtext? Did
you replace the shared state module?

Regards,
Sebastian

Hello Sebastian,

okay, the problem occurred again after I completely reinstalled my Eclipse. Didn't find the solution for now.

Regards,
Sven
