Agent Controller is unavailable under port 10002 [message #116061] Fri, 19 October 2007 16:57 Go to next message

I downloaded and installed Eclipse JEE Version 3.3.0 Build id:
M20070921-1145 onto my work laptop. I went out to the TPTP update site
http://eclipse.org/tptp/updates/site.xml and installed the latest version
of TPTP as of 10/19/2007. I tried to profile a little sample program and
I get the following exception:

org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException
Agent Controller is unavailable under port 10002. Make sure that the
service is started and the port number is correct under preferences.

org.eclipse.tptp.platform.execution.exceptions.AgentControll erUnavailableException:
Error: Unable to connect to the Agent Controller.Timeout while waiting for
connection to complete
at
org.eclipse.tptp.platform.execution.client.core.internal.Nod eImpl.connect(NodeImpl.java:146)
at
org.eclipse.tptp.platform.execution.util.internal.AgentContr ollerPool$1$EstablishConnection.run(AgentControllerPool.java :164)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

I did basically the same thing at home and everything worked. I've
checked the firewall and it's ok. I've looked to see if there's a proxy
and I found none.

Help!

I forgot to mention that my work Laptop is Dell Precision M70 running
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 2. My
work laptop cannot connect to the Integrated Agent Controller.

My home computer is an AMD64X2 running Microsoft Windows XP Professional
64 Bit Edition and the Eclipse JEE/TPTP combination works there and I can
connect to the IAC.

I don't understand what's different.

I rand into the same issue...so I just downloaded the Agent Controller
from http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/?ver=4.4.0.3 and
configured and ran the ACService.exe.

I haven't been able to get the Integrated Agent Controller to startup.

Hi Billy,
It appears as if something other than the IAC is using port 10002. Did
you try the Agent Controller (see
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/)? If not, try it and configure
the port to something other than 10002.

Hi Sud,
Is your firewall blocking the Agent Controller's port? What is the
error message/exception you see in the workbench?
