Hello,

I use linux 64-bit eclipse.

I installed eclipse 3-4 months ago by unzipping a large .tar.gz that was entitled something like "Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers (includes Incubating components)"

Possibly complicating matters, I also needed a bugfix to something called "autotools support for CDT (incubation)" and somehow installed a nightly build of this component. But please feel free to ignore this point it it causes difficulty in providing an answer to my question below.

Today I started eclipse and selected Help | Check For Updates. To my surprise, eclipse responded with the message "No updates were found."

Q1: Has eclipse provided any updates in the past 3-4 months?

Q2: If yes, then why doesn't Help | Check For Updates report anything?

Q3: Which, if any, of these items does Help | Check for Updates check:
- Eclipse itself
- Eclipse "Installed Software" (whatever that is)
- Eclipse "Features" (whatever those are)
- Eclipse "Plug-ins" (also not sure what these are)

Q4: How can I update these parts of eclipse:
- Eclipse itself
- Eclipse "Installed Software"
- Eclipse "Features"
- Eclipse "Plug-ins"
- [your idea here]

Thank you very much! I love eclipse and have been using it every day!

Chris

PS: For your pleasure, I have attached my configuration

Q1: no, you are likely already running the latest simultaneous release package.

Nitin,

Thank you for the link. I am indeed using the current release.

I'll assume that these items are also at their current release:
- Eclipse "Installed Software"
- Eclipse "Features"
- Eclipse "Plug-ins"
