XML source editor missing?! [message #115040] Fri, 01 July 2005 05:31 Go to next message

Hi,
I just downloaded and installed WTP M5 (with all the required plugins).

May be I'm just blind, but I can't find the XML source editor.
In Prefrences->General->Editors->File Associations if you push
the "Add" button for an arbitrary file extension there's no
XML source editor available in the Editor Selection dialog.

Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

Thanks!

Cheers,
Christian

Christian,

No, you're not blind. You probably had selected a type that already had
the XML Editor associated with it. Try creating a new type, e.g. *.zml
and then associate the XML Editor with it. BTW - there is now only the
unified XML Editor (no more Source only variant).

Arthur,
thanks for the info. I can open the files in the XML editor, but it's the
structured tree-like editor. I'd rather edit the text like in the Ant
editor or the plugin.xml editor (plugin.xml tab).

Is there a setting somewhere that let's me choose whether to open in the
(now?) default mode or the (not there anymore?) XML Source mode?

Thanks for your time.

Artur,
ignore my last post. I just saw the "Design" and "Source" tabs at the
bottom of the editor window. I must be blind after all!

Thanks,
Christian
