Why does cancel button exist? [message #875166] Tue, 22 May 2012 09:00 Go to next message

I just wanted to ask if people are generally aware of the cancel button's absolute uselessness. Eclipse never acts on it. Has it always been like that? I started using Eclipse when it was v3.0 and I can't remember how it worked then...

Sorry, but no: saying Eclipse never acts on it is wrong, I've seen it cancel various operations many times Smile

If you see a problem, I suggest you mention the situations when you see long running operations which cannot be canceled.
Also, in this forum we should discuss situations specifically concerning the JDT.

best,
Stephan
