I'm trying to use Eclipse 4.2 M7. I used Eclipse juno-SDK-I20120411-2034-win32 without issues. With M7, I get the following error: "Could not initialize class org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.project.facet.IJ2EEFacetConstants". There is no further information provided. Is there some incompatibility with JST and the new M7 release?

Unlikely, although a full stack trace would be enlightening. It's probably
http://bugs.eclipse.org/351360 .

I found the solution.

Install the plugin "Eclipse Java EE Developer Tools".

For the googlers: the stack trace can be retreived by pressing CTRL-3 and then selecting "Error Log" (see http //stackoverflow.com/questions/10118968/how-can-i-debug-errors-occurred-during-the-build-in-eclipse -- How can I debug "Errors occurred during the build" in Eclipse?).
