I have a swing component that was loaded into a Composite as SWT.EMBEDDED
in the RCP version, but RAP does not support this option. I need the
composite to stay embedded in the same window (and especially have it stay
viewed in the browser), is there an alternative for this in RAP?

The SWT_AWT bridge is not yet available in RAP. I don't know of a
general alternative. Depending on your use-case you may find a way
to substitute the functionality provided by the swing components.
Have you considered providing the swing component in an applet?
