Axis Plugin [message #112313] Fri, 17 June 2005 10:46 Go to next message

When I created my current working version of Eclipse it contained a plugin
for Axis 1_1. I am using Eclipse 3.1 M6, WTP 1.0 M3, Apace Tomcat 5.0.28.

I downloaded Axis 1_1 and copied the WEB_INF folder to the Tomcat Server.
I also set my class path variables to point to this version of Axis.

Since then Axis 1_2_1 has been approved. I downloaded the version and
extracted the files. I coped the WEB_INF folder to the Tomcat Servier. I
updated the classpath variables. I went into
Windows->Preferences->Plug-in Development->Target Platform and the
Plug-ins tab. I clicked the Reload button but the plugin listed is still
org.apache.axis11(1.1.0).

How do I get the plugin to upgrade to 1_2_1?

Does anyone know if there are any compatiblity issues with 1_2_1, Tomcat
5.0.28, Eclipse 3.1 M6, and WTP 1.0 M3?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,

Axis 1.2 is not supported in WTP M3. Bug 98340
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=98340) says that support
for Axis 1.2 has been added to WTP post WTP M4 which means it will first
be part of WTP M5.

Lawrence,

Thanks for the input, I greatly appreciate it. Regarding the information
that you provided. Would the Axis 1_2_1 be packaged with the newer
releases? If not, how would I upgrade the plugin per my earlier question
when I upgrade?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,

Yes. According to the defect notes the new version will be packaged with
WTP M5.
