JVMTI agent not available when profiling application through Eclipse [message #109953] Fri, 24 August 2007 03:54

I'm having an issue profiling an application with a large number of VM
arguments. Is there a limit to the number of arguments the profiler can
take? When I try to run the profiler, I get a message stating "The
JVMTI agent org.eclipse.tptp.jvmti is not available. Make sure that the
libraries for the agent are available and that it is configured
properly". I thought I was having the same problem as bug 166370, but
it doesn't seem to be the same issue.

I have 4.4.0.1 installed in Eclipse v3.3. I have tried updating via the
all in one package and through the update site. I've installed the
standalone agent and can profile the application via the command line
(verified I had a trace.trcxml file). The agent port is set to 10006
within Eclipse. I can successfully connect to it if I test availability
from the Profile dialog and Preferences. When I start profiling, the
agent log gets a few messages (I apologize for the formatting):

Does anyone have any insight as to what could be causing the agent to
not work with this application through Eclipse? It seems like it times
out, but I thought that problem was resolved in the 4.4 release...
Eclipse is communicating with the agent controller, so I'm not certain
what could be incorrect with my setup.

Thanks,

Chris
