Finish button stays disabled in VE Wizard [message #109458] Thu, 13 October 2005 15:19 Go to next message

Has anybody a solution to this?

I have VE installed, I start the New->VisualClass Wizard,
I enter a nice class name, select the style super class -
but this "Finish" button stays disabled. No way to
get it enabled and to create a new class with this wizard.
(I can create VE example classes and they run nicely.)

I'm running on WinXP:
Eclipse Version: 3.1.1 Build id: M20050929-0840
GEF 3.1.1
EMF 1.1.0.1
VE 1.1.0.1

I'm not stupid - but maybe I'm doing something terribly
wrong...
Thanks for any help!
- Peter.

If this happens there is usually a message at the top of dialog
explaining why.

Not really.
Nothing there.
Also the "Error Log" view is silent. No log file in my
<workspace>/.metadata
directory. Nothing.
I'm really stuck.
Very strange.

I also tried running it with WinAdmin rights (thought it could be a
permission thing) - but that didn't help either.
Any more ideas??

thanks!

Can you give me a screen capture of where you entirely filled in the
wizard correctly but the finished doesn't enable?

Sure - I first need to figure out where to upload it for you though or how
to attach it with this web interface I'm using here.

BUT: I just figured out it's a thing with my workspace. I've just created
a new empty workspace, added a Plug-in project and added a VisualClass to
a package in there. That worked.
Not sure what's different with my other workspace, except it's under CVS
control, it contains 15+ projects and Idontknowhowmany java files - but
that shouldn't hurt, should it?

So, for me that's a workaround to get me going. I can create VE classes
and start working. If you are still interested in hunting it down (as it
still doesn't look like an user error to me, so far), I'd be willing to
try a couple of things.

Thanks for your responses.
- Peter.
