Hello RAP team,

For some reasons, It was useful for me to have plugin-spy in my RAP application.
Also I prefered the way PDE is bundled in RCP (2 bundles 1 for error log, other for plugin-registry and plugin-spy), because it could be useful to add Error log without Plugin registry and plugin-spy, so I decided to port last version of PDE runtime.

If it makes sense for you I can create a bug to share this work.
If you want to have a look, you will find the 2 bundles attached here.

(It contains also fix and improvements described in 347957)

Regards,
Arnaud

Hi Arnaud,

thanks for sharing your work! I don't think that bugzilla is a good
place to store it because it's hard to find the code there, and in case
of updates or improvements, we'd end up with a lot of attachments.

The best place to share code is a public repository. Why don't you
create one at github? This would allow others to update, extend and
comment on your code. If you like, we could also link to it from the RAP
project page.

If you'd like to contribute it to Eclipse, and continue to maintain the
code there, it may also become a part of the Eclipse incubator. But a
github repository would be a good start.

Regards, Ralf

Hello,

I have created a github repo :
git://github.com/amergey/pde-rap-port.git

If you think there are interests for this, I'd like to contribute it to eclipse and of course I can continue to maintain the code.

Best regards,
Arnaud

Hi Arnaud,

Great, thanks. The RAP Incubator project is going to switch to git in
the next weeks. After this, we should think about bringing your port
into the incubator. Are you already an Eclipse committer?

Regards, Ralf
