Make eclipse warn when editing Read-only files [message #850733] Fri, 20 April 2012 05:19
Eclipse UserFriend
I am using CVS to store the settings of a project. The project contains a linked folder and the source files included in this folder are not managed in CVS.

The problem is that when I edit a read-only file in this project, eclipse will not ask if the file should be made writable; instead it just makes it writable.

For a non-CVS managed project, the same scenario results in a prompt displaying "Read-only file encountered - ... Do you wish to make it writable?".
How to I get this prompt working for my CVS managed project?

Thanks in advance.
