I would like to profile an application on Solaris and CentOS.
However when I launch eclipse and try to profile it I get
the following error:
>Connection failed on host localhost
>Reason:
>IWAT0284E The agent controller is not available on host localhost.
There is no need to manually install or start the Integrated Agent
Controller. However the IAC only seems to work on the Windows or
Linux IA32 platforms. I tested profiling on Windows and that
worked well.
Can someone please confirm that the IAC will not work for
Solaris 10 on a SPARC platform or CentOS 4.4 on an x86_64 platform?
If this is the case then I would like to run an external Agent
Controller on Solaris. But the Agent Controller is only available
for Windows/Linux and not for Solaris on this web page:
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/?ver=4.4.0.1
However a previous version of TPTP has an Agent Controller for Solaris:
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/drops/TPTP-4.2.0. html
I installed this Solaris agent, and I got a "Connection success"
pop-up when I tested the connection:
Windows->Preferences->Profiling->Hosts - Test Connection
However when I run eclipse and try to profile an application I get
an error stating that the Agent Controller is unavailable under
port 10002.
I have read the documention and the FAQ and searched the
newsgroup postings.
Thanks.
